Community outreach programs are essential for social workers who want
to engage with diverse populations, address social issues, and promote positive
change. They can also help build trust, Community outreach
involves providing professional services, or services of a specific expertise,
to a group of people who may not otherwise have access to those services. It is
performed where those in need are located with collaboration, and empowerment among
community members.
With this ideology,
TGSWRDC(W),Ibrahimpatnam initiated COP in the year 2019 and successfully running
the programme till date.
Community Outreach Programmes in TSWRDC[W], Ibrahimpatnam
Community outreach programmes are the
innovating initiation of the Telangana social welfare residential degree
college for women Ibrahimpatnam.
This programs have been started with a support
of head office in the academic year 2019 -2020.
As part of community outreach programs our
college students are taken to government schools ,nearby villages to perform
various programmes and to create awareness in the local circumstances.
The various programs were conducted under
community outreach programmes which are explained In detail below:
1.Our students are taken to a nearby
government affiliated vocational course centre ( DDKYC) and our students took
certain classes to mobilise their students about the importance of healthy
lifestyle. Regular exercises, routine activities which promote the health. They
exhibited situations and told moral stories,displayed charts of food pyramids.
2.Our students have taken to nearby
government's school to interact with the students and gave them certain
instructions about healthy lifestyle,habits
& importance of regular exercises and our students told them moral stories . Our students taught then how
to write their name in english.
3. Another important programme is eco-friendly
Ganesha, where our students prepared eco-friendly Ganesh idols in large number
and distributed those idols to the villagers. Our student met many people and
explained them the importance of preserving the environment.
4.Another important event is the house survey
where our students went around the village and interacted with the household
population. Found their problems and gave them certain counselling like how to
cope up with certain troubles in the society.
5.Another event Is where our students went to
agricultural fields and created awareness among the farmers about the chemical fertilisers, their harmful
effects and the consequences of using them for
prolong time. Our students also taught them how to prepare the natural
fertilizers,the manure and the advantages of using the natural manure today for
the benefit of next generations.
In this way, many programs are taken up by
community outreach programme committee of our college.
